Czech Republic to Increase Business Support in Ukraine to 1 Billion Crowns

The government of the Czech Republic will increase the capital of the fund supporting Czech entrepreneurs in Ukraine from 639 million crowns to 1 billion crowns. Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš announced this after a government meeting. The decision is based on proposals from the ministries of industry and trade, as well as finance, regarding the redistribution of funds within the state export guarantee and insurance company EGAP. This will allow the continuation of the program for Czech exporters supplying goods to Ukraine. In hryvnia equivalent, the capital will increase from approximately 1.35 billion UAH to 2.11 billion UAH. Babiš also met with Czech entrepreneurs to discuss their activities in Ukraine and possible forms of government support. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade and Industry, Karel Havlíček, discussed financing both through EGAP and within the framework of the European Union. The Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Czech Republic is preparing a business mission to Ukraine for the fall. Czech companies are ready to assist Ukraine in restoring its energy infrastructure by offering equipment for damaged hydro and thermal power plants.
