Bitcoin Volatility Storm May Be Coming, Market Faces Turbulence

By: rootdata|2026/07/20 16:08:00

Market analysts warn that traders should pay attention to the potential volatility storm surrounding Bitcoin, which is typically accompanied by price declines. This alert is based on the trend of the 30-day implied volatility index for Bitcoin (BVIV), which is seen as a fear index for the crypto market and is influenced by options demand. Currently, the BVIV hovers in the range of 34%-38%, and historical data shows that this area is often a critical position before a volatility explosion, followed by a correction in Bitcoin's price. Although historical trends do not guarantee future occurrences, the market generally believes that volatility exhibits mean-reverting characteristics, with low volatility phases often leading to increased volatility, while high volatility phases may gradually return to stability.
